Five Practice Areas You Should Be Aware Of

Many of our clients have come to know us as a commercial law firm with strong emphasis on real estate, tax, corporate and financial areas of practice. This is certainly true; however, clients are sometimes surprised to learn that our practice touches other fields with which we are not always associated but which make us truly a “full service” law firm.

First on the list is our personal injury practice, with Bill Brennan, Curt Ward, and to a lesser extent Kevin Palmer and Mike Malin representing clients in all aspects of personal injury practice. Much of Bill’s and Curt’s work is devoted to representing clients injured in automobile accidents, slip and fall cases, accidents in the workplace and medical malpractice actions. It is noteworthy that Bill Brennan was responsible for what was until recently the highest jury verdict ever recorded in Bucks County arising out of a personal injury matter, $2.75 million.

Another practice area which forms part of the core of our firm involves collection matters. Curt Ward and Mike Malin handle a significant number of collection actions for businesses and individuals alike. Depending upon the nature of the case, collection actions can be structured on a contingent or fixed fee basis. Curt is especially adept at handling difficult collections where debtors either seek to evade their obligations or attempt to render themselves insolvent or uncollectible.

Cynthia Dixon has become our resident expert in the area of employment and labor law, handling all aspects of these areas for our many employer clients. This area is constantly changing, with Congress and the State Legislature continuing to expand the rights of employees and the obligations of employers in the workplace. Cynthia works tirelessly to remain abreast of developments in this area.

While he is better known for his work in commercial law, real estate and zoning, Kevin Palmer also specializes in minor criminal matters, including cases involving driving under the influence, traffic violations and summary criminal offenses. Bill Brennan and Curt Ward also handle these matters. We hope that our clients will rarely need their services in this type of case, but it is reassuring to know that they can be called on to defend and protect those who encounter such difficulties.

Landlord/Tenant practice is one other area often overlooked but making up an important part of our firm’s activity. Stu Cohen and Bill Brennan represent both landlords and tenants in this area, with Stu’s practice focused predominantly on commercial lease negotiation and drafting and Bill’s work in the area of landlord/tenant litigation.
