Home Sweet (New) Home!

It became a major local news story, and it was fun: The King of Prussia Inn has been rescued from the ignominy of the polluted, cacophonous, barren, and soulless island PennDOT created a couple decades back. And it looks beautiful, even in its pre-rehabilitated state on a lot unworthy of its inherent grandeur.

If a building could smile, this one would be ear-to-ear!

On August 20th, in what proved to be an incredibly delicate maneuver, the Inn was sent off to its new home less than a quarter of a mile away, a trip that took more than 30 hours! Watching all of those tough-looking construction people in hard hats, with all kinds of massive equipment and shoring, moving literally an inch at a time, I recalled that commercial line of an era long-passed: “Tough, but oh so gentle.”
