Kevin Palmer was a featured lecturer last month in separate seminars for attorneys sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, speaking on Pennsylvania real estate law in both Philadelphia and Mechanicsburg. The seminars, entitled “A Family of Laws for the Family Lawyer”, brought together specialized attorneys to address family lawyers on distinct areas of practice commonly encountered by lawyers practicing in the domestic relations arena, including real estate, tax, estate planning, military law and corporations. In addition to attending individual lectures, the audience participated in smaller discussion groups with each of the lecturers answering a wide variety of questions within his or her area of expertise. Kevin provided tips on negotiating residential real estate agreements, the choices and significance of the ways title to real estate can be taken in Pennsylvania, special protections granted to spouses taking title to real estate, and recent changes in the rules relating to the federal tax lien on real estate owned by married persons in the Commonwealth.
In addition to these lectures, Kevin is presently updating a series of articles previously published in the Banking Law Journal dealing with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, which regulates banks at the federal level in connection with the non-discriminatory availability of credit. Stay tuned.
